- After four years working as a reporter and anchor at KXLY 4, Melissa stepped into a new role as Executive Producer in January 2007. In addition to managing the day-to-day operations, she is a fill-in anchor and reporter. Melissa came to KXLY in 2002, after two years reporting in Tri-Cities. Before that, she worked as an intern and Associate Producer at several stations in Milwaukee and Washington, DC. Melissa grew up in Great Falls, Montana and is a graduate of Marquette University. TV is in her blood: her father is a long-time sports/news reporter now working in San Diego. Her first TV appearance came just hours after her birth! In her time at KXLY 4, Melissa has covered everything from polygamy to the reawakening of Mt. St. Helens to Super Bowl XL in Detroit. She loves the quirky stories that get people talking. She also won a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award for her continuing coverage of the Joseph Duncan case. Melissa prides herself on research and writing and won her second Regional Edward R. Murrow Award for writing in 2007. She hopes to bring some of those elements to her new role at KXLY.
