- McKay Allen joined the KXLY 4 news team in June of 2008.
He comes to Spokane after working a year at KTVX ABC 4 in Salt Lake City as a General Assignment reporter, where he covered issues ranging from wildfires and floods to politics and breaking news.
McKay was also an award-winning anchor as a college journalist at Brigham Young University. During his time there, he received several national journalism awards from the Broadcast Education Association, the Student Society of Professional Journalists, and from BYU. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from BYU in 2008 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science.
McKay grew up in the little town (150 people) of Antimony, Utah near Bryce Canyon. He grew up working on his family's cattle ranch, which meant lots of early mornings and late nights. McKay loves playing sports and watching sports. He loves being outdoors and is excited to be here in Spokane.
When he's not reporting local news, McKay's involved in activities at his church or spending time with his beautiful wife Stacy, a Yakima native. They were married on September 21, 2007.
