Lana’s Grandbabies

My mother in-law has been talking about grandbabies since the day I met her 8 years ago. At the time, Robby’s oldest brother Jade was single. His middle brother Jeff had just started dating his girlfriend Shalli. And I still considered Robby “a friend” when I met my future mother in-law Lana. Though babies seemed far off for her 3 boys who were still single or in college, the baby boom was coming for the Deyo family.

In the last 2 and half years, Lana has welcomed 4 grandkids into the world. Jeff and Shalli had Vaughn in March of 2006. Robby and I had Leialoha a year later. And Jade and Laura just gave birth June 15th to their baby girl Ashley Ellen. Jeff and Shalli added one more to the clan last week July 15th, Silas Lane.        We got a kick out of trying to get all of them lined up for a picture. Might I say it was a good form of entertainment for myself and brothers and sisters in-law trying to get them to stop crying, keep their hands to themselves, stay parked for more than a minute, and just stay propped up… that can be challenging when you’re less than two weeks old. The best picture was probably behind the camera as we all tried to get our kids to stop and say cheese. It was all very entertaining.

Cute kids! We had six in our family, and I don’t think we ever had even one picture where everyone was doing what they were supposed to do. Great memories, though. :-)

What cuties. Every Christmas we take “kid pictures” of all of the cousins. It is hillarious to set them up and then watch the poor photographer scramble to get that perfect shot. My favorite ones are when everybody is acting up!
