I got a call from my little 15 year old brother last night. He is a high school Sophomore. He is a happy, fun, cool kid. And yesterday someone stole his i-Pod.

It was apparently in his gym locker and when he went to grab it after class it was gone. Someone had somehow gotten his locker open and stolen his i-Pod. Now, don’t misunderstand me, I despise i-Pods. I think they represent the downfall of conversation in American society. However, don’t steal my brother’s stuff!

That’s not cool.

I don’t think I’ve ever had anything really expensive stolen from me. I think someone here at KXLY swiped some hair gel that I left on our bathroom counter for a few too many minutes, I also think someone stole a shirt of mine in college, but beyond that I’ve never really been impacted by the kleptos among us.

I only hope that some minor, unforeseen ‘accident’ befalls the zit-faced punk who stole my brother’s i-Pod or that he just decides to give my brother his i-Pod back.

Your disgust with iPod’s is evident since you posted a picture of an iPhone… not an iPod :) Still… a 15-year-old getting his iPod stolen is sad news. Lay off thieves!

Actually, Colleen, that is an iPod Touch. The exact item stolen from my brother. So there.

    Fair enough. haha

My daughter will take her ipod to high school sometimes but she is forbidden to have it leave her person, which means no locker. In jr. high last year her friends ipod was taken the same way, from a PE locker. Kids sometimes need to learn their own lesson, but it’s not a fun lesson when it’s expensive to replace. Incidentally, my daughter acquired her ipod 3 years ago when we found it on a walk. It’s not fancy and was a little dinged up but still works. Expensive lesson for that young man too. We did try to locate him but couldn’t find a name in the phone book. And eventually the person who took your brothers ipod will have something taken from him and he too will learn a lesson on what it feels like to be ripped off.
