Dave Erickson anchors KXLY4 News at 5 and 6 Monday through Friday. Dave joined KXLY4 in 2007 but is not stranger to the Inland Northwest. He attended Spokane Community College and graduated from Washington State University. Go Cougs! A Pacific Northwest native, Dave grew up in Vancouver, Washington. He got his news broadcasting start at KNDU, the NBC affiliate in Kennewick, Washington. Dave has more than 14 years of experience as an anchor and reporter in several markets, including Portland, St. Louis, Indianapolis and Honolulu. Dave's most memorable news assignments to date include the Ice Storm of 1999 outside Indianapolis where he provided live reports for ABC News affiliates around the country including CNN, covering President George Bush's visit to Portland, Oregon in 2003, his "Mission of Hope" series from Nogales, Arizona in 2007, his "Assignment Iraq: 5 Years Later project, when he spent two weeks embedded with the Army National Guard's 161st Infantry at Joint Base Balad, Iraq in April of 2009, two trips to Mulege, Baja California Sur with a local pilot shuttling clothes and medical supplies following Hurricane Jimena in September of 2009 and a week long trip to Kona, Hawaii for the 2009 Ironman World Championship. In his free time, Dave stays very busy. When he's not chasing around his dog Maximus, he's planning his next road trip, playing indoor soccer or training for triathlons. He's competed in more than 60 triathlons since 1998 including Ironman Coeur d'Alene in 2008 & 2009. Dave has been a strong supporter of various charities throughout his career, including The Children's Miracle Network, The United Way, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
